3 Benefits of Surface Sanitizers

If nothing else good comes from our collective pandemic experience, at least we're all more familiar with using hand and surface sanitizers. While they became a necessity over the past couple of years, it's beneficial to use them all the time.

To underscore why, and how they can help, let's look at some surface sanitizer benefits. And we're not even going to include the main benefit, which is to eliminate the viruses, bacteria and fungi that spread disease.

Eliminates Odours From Your Home

Many of the odours in your home are caused by mold, mildew and odour causing bacteria. A regular program of using surface sanitizer all around your home can keep your home smelling fresher. Be sure to clean damp, dark areas in the kitchen, bathroom and basement too.

Decreases Allergy and Respiratory Issues

That same mold and mildew, as well as dust, pet dander, pollen and more, can trigger allergic reactions or other respiratory issues. Even if you take steps to improve your indoor air quality using air purifiers and humidifiers, they won't clean the allergy triggers that lie on the surfaces of your home. The same allergens that are waiting for you to walk by, stir them up and affect your breathing.

Regularly using surface sanitizers around your home will reduce the number of indoor pollutants in your home and help you breathe easier.

Protects Your Immune System

Just like your muscles, your immune system gets tired and doesn't perform as well when it's overused. Constantly fighting off intruders that can harm your body makes your immune system less ready for the bigger battles, like colds and the flu. By keeping all the surfaces in your home sanitized, you reduce the threats to your immune system so that its strong and ready when you need it most.

In addition to regularly cleaning all around the home, it's recommended that you clean high touch surfaces, including doorknobs, tables, handles, light switches and counters more frequently, especially after guests visit.
